R&D Design Services, Ltd. (RDDS), Completes Max-Viz EVS-1000 Installation for Agusta A109 Helicopter
Margate, Kent, U.K., 3rd October 2007 – R&D Design Services, Ltd. (RDDS), of Margate, Kent, U.K., a leading provider of vision-enhanced airborne surveillance systems to worldwide Civil, Police and Military organisations, today announced the successful implementation in the Agusta A109 Helicopter of the Max-Viz EVS-1000 Enhanced Vision System (EVS) utilising the RDDS LCD0803-341 8.4” LCD airborne display. The Max-Vis EVS-1000 enables pilots to "see through" conditions of poor visibility such as haze, smoke, snow, rain, and the darkness of night, all of which improves a pilot’s view of the outside environment and operate more safely.
Working closely with Max-Viz, Inc. and Agusta S.p.A., RDDS developed a bespoke solution for the LCD0803-341 display, enabling it to mask portions of the image when activated by weight-on-wheel sensors, allowing pilots to focus on mission-critical images without distraction.
