RDDS Avionics Limited (RDDS) supplies Jet Aviation with Radar Display Integration product and support

Margate, Kent, U.K., 16th  July 2010 – RDDS Avionics Limited (RDDS), of Margate, Kent, U.K. announced today that it will supply Jet Aviation Basel, Switzerland, with the VFC200-100 Video Format Converter for installation onto a Dassault Falcon 7X aircraft.

RDDS is supplying Jet Aviation Basel with a VFC200-100 Video Format Convertor. The innovative product, which successfully converts Honeywell WXPD format Weather Radar data into a conventional VGA or composite video signal, will enable the Dassault 7X aircraft to display Weather Radar information on its onboard cabin display.

The VFC200-100 product is also capable of converting ARINC 708/453 formatted data into a variety of conventional video formats for use with aircraft mission displays, avoiding the need to fit additional, costly and complex Multi Function Displays. Applications include Search and Rescue and Special Mission operations or any situation where it would be advantageous to have weather or search Radar information available to the mission operator on an existing display.

“We are pleased to utilize the VFC200-100 for this Dassault 7X project, as it will enable us to provide weather on a visual display within the aircraft,” says Michael Sattler, senior vice president MRO services at Jet Aviation Basel.

“RDDS is pleased for this opportunity to work closely with Jet Aviation Basel,” says Managing Director James Sullivan. “We are excited to utilize the versatility of the VFC200-100 to fulfil this specific customer requirement, and to generally expand our competence with airborne Radar integration.”
