RDDS - Warranty Terms and Conditions

Standard Factory Hardware Warranty

RDDS hereby warrants that it will repair or replace, at its option, any part of the unit with which this warranty is enclosed which proves defective by reason of improper workmanship and/or material, without charge for parts or labour for a period of one year.  This warranty period commences on the date of original purchase by the buyer.

To obtain service under this warranty you must return your unit packaged in the original shipping container or an equivalent to RDDS.  Any postage, insurance, shipping, and installation costs incurred in presenting the unit for service are your responsibility. RDDS will incur the costs of return shipping and insurance providing the unit is under warranty.  All shipping costs and insurance on units which are not in warranty are the sole responsibility of the purchaser.

This warranty applies only if the product fails to function under normal use and within the manufacturer's specifications.  The warranty does not apply if the unit's label or serial number has been removed from the product, if the warranty seals are broken or removed or if, in the sole opinion of RDDS, accident, misuse, neglect or improper packing or servicing by an unauthorised service centre has damaged the product.

These units contain static-sensitive electronic circuitry.  Do not open the case.  This warranty will become void if any attempt to modify or adjust any internal components has been made.  Failure to adhere to installation instructions voids this warranty.

The duration of any implied warranty shall be limited to the duration of the expressed warranty set forth above.  In no event shall R&D Design Services Limited be liable for any loss, inconvenience or damage whether direct, incidental, consequential or otherwise, or whether caused by negligence or other fault resulting from breach of any express or implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for particular purpose or otherwise, except as specified herein.



Extended Hardware Warranty

RDDS can offer an Extended Warranty Contract. Under this agreement, the standard factory warranty is extended with the same conditions.

The Extended Warranty Contract offers the following advantages:

• RDDS estimates all repair costs of the equipment involved with a high degree of accuracy, thereby avoiding unplanned expenses
• RDDS assumes most of the risks associated with the repair of the equipment at a reasonable cost
• Within the scope of this contract, free upgrades can be offered, e.g. for implementing MTBF improvements

Warranty on Repairs

Repaired subassemblies have a warranty of three months for the same type of failure or the extent of the remaining warranty, whatever term is longer
